OPX is an acronym for Operational Excellence. 

OPX is an internal management program designed to align the work performed by each person to enterprise strategic initiatives and business center objectives. The strategic initiatives have been identified by the Sarasota County Board of County Commissioners.

OPX is a business management process that aligns the mission, vision, and strategic initiatives to our day-to-day workflow and personal performance. OPX will ensure that the outcomes of our work support the identified strategies and goals, and that we are accountable for our efforts.

• focuses on high impact performance measures accomplished in the shortest possible time.

OPX  meetings occur weekly. The dynamic process of the meeting is the dialogue between the presenting team and review panel. Queries focus on the linkage between strategies and key intended outcomes, and in-turn, key intended outcomes and measures of performance.

Prior to each meeting, analysis groups review the identified outputs and measures from each presenting team. Each analysis group develops a list of issues and questions for the meeting.

OPX is built on the following tenets:

• Alignment to a common set of strategies.
• Effective tactics to achieve strategies.
• Rapid implementation of tactics using all organization resources.
• Continuous evaluation, assessment, and course corrections when needed.
